One of the latest advancements in imaging and ultrasound technology is the 4D Ultrasound. This technique provides you with “live action” detailed images of your child in the womb. The advantage for you is more detailed images of your child’s progress and development through your pregnancy. The advantage for the technician is the ability to better visualize the internal anatomy of your child as it moves.
A typical ultrasound exam lasts approximately 20 to 40 minutes, and the optimal time to perform a 4D Ultrasound is around 27 to 30 weeks into the pregnancy. If you are not that far along in your pregnancy, Greenville OB-GYN still offers traditional ultrasound and imaging techniques. To learn more about our comprehensive ultrasound and imaging services, visit our Imaging page.
Currently, 4D Ultrasounds are not covered by regular insurance. However, at $150.00, the service is still very affordable.
